Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Centres/Units are engaged in Research and Development activities in the realm of Space Application, Space Science and Technology for the benefit of society at large and for serving the nation by achieving self-reliance and developing capacity to design and build Launch Vehicles and Communication/Remote Sensing Satellites and thereafter launch them.
ISRO invites online applications from eligible candidates for direct recruitment to the post of Scientist/Engineer-SC (Level 10 of the Pay Matrix - Group-A Gazetted posts) at constituent ISRO Centres, as detailed below:
IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE
01. Those who possess the required qualification as on the last date of application (as on 06.10.2025) only need to apply.
02. M.E/M.Tech should be with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA / CPI grading of a minimum of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent.
03. B.E/B.Tech should be with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA / CPI grading of a minimum of 6.84 on a 10 point scale or equivalent. AMIE/Grade IETE candidates should possess minimum of 65% marks or CGPA 6.84 on a 10 point scale in Section B alone. Those candidates who have registered for AMIE prior to 31.05.2013 only are eligible.
04. Essential qualification (ie Post Graduation / Graduation) should have been completed within the stipulated duration of the course as prescribed by the University. Where a University mentions both CGPA / CPI and percentage of marks in its Degree Certificate or Consolidated Marksheet, then at least one criteria (either CGPA or percentage) should meet DOS/ISRO’s eligibility norms.
05. Where a University mentions only CGPA / CPI in its Degree Certificate or Consolidated mark sheet, then the CGPA / CPI so mentioned should necessarily meet DOS/ISRO’s eligibility criteria. Conversion of CGPA / CPI into percentage of marks is not permitted to determine eligibility, regardless of whether any conversion formula is prescribed by the University/Institution concerned. The same criteria apply mutatis mutandis in cases where only percentage of marks is mentioned in the Degree Certificate / Consolidated mark sheet.
06. Candidates possessing Degrees awarded by foreign universities should produce the equivalency certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, at the time of interview.
07. For Post Nos. 1554 to 1558, the Centre of Posting is VSSC. For Post Nos. 1559& 1560, the vacancies are scattered across multiple Centres of ISRO as mentioned in the advertisement. Therefore, the candidates applying against post Nos. 1559& 1560 are required to provide their order of preference of the Centre of posting while submitting online application. The place of posting will solely be decided by the Centre concerned. Further, the selected candidates are liable to be posted in any of the Centres/Units of the Indian Space Research Organisation / Department of Space situated anywhere in India as and when required.
08. The above vacancies may vary depending upon the actual requirement.
09. VSSC/ISRO reserves the right not to fill up any of the posts, if it so decides.

GENERAL CONDITIONS / INSTRUCTIONS
01. The posts are temporary, but likely to continue.
02. AGE LIMIT
2.1. 30 years as on 06.10.2025
2.2. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 06.10.1995 and not later than 06.10.2007.
2.3. Serving Central Government employees, Ex-Servicemen & Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders.
03. HOW TO APPLY
3.1. Candidates are required to apply online through VSSC website (https://www.vssc.gov.in) from 1000 hours on 22.09.2025 to 1700 hours on 06.10.2025. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.
3.2. Candidate should read the instructions in the advertisement and online application carefully before making any entry or selecting any option in the application portal.
3.3. Before clicking the submit button, the candidate is advised to ensure that all the details filled in are correct. Candidate may also ensure that name, date of birth, etc. are entered correctly in the application form as per Secondary School Leaving Certificate. After final submission of application, no request for change/correction in the application form shall be entertained.
3.4. After submitting the online application form and successful payment of application fee as prescribed, candidate is required to take print out / save copy of the final application form (pdf) and preserve it till the completion of selection process.
3.5. The candidates registered under National Career Service (NCS) portal and fulfilling the eligibility conditions may visit ISRO website and follow the application procedure as stated above.
3.6. Candidates will have to produce the proof of the details furnished in their applications submitted online as and when required.
3.7. Misrepresentation, hiding or falsification of facts etc. detected at any stage of the selection process, will result in cancellation of candidature, without any notice, and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
04. APPLICATION FEE
4.1. There is a non-refundable Application Fee of Rs.250/- (Two Hundred and Fifty Rupees) for each application. However, initially all candidates have to uniformly pay Rs.750/- (Seven Hundred and Fifty Rupees) per application. The balance amount after deducting the application fee/ bank charges will be refunded to the candidates as detailed below:
4.1.1. Female / Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Ex-servicemen [EX-SM] and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates will be refunded full fee subject to the condition that the candidates should appear in the written test. For other candidates, an amount of Rs.500 only will be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing written test.
4.1.2. Fee may be paid online through Bharathkosh portal and the link for making the payment will appear on submission of the online application. No other mode of payment will be acceptable. All applicable service charges for payment of fee shall be borne by the applicant.
4.1.3. The refundable portion of examination fee shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable. The application fee paid by the candidates whose application is incomplete or those who have not submitted their application or whose application is rejected, will not be refunded. The applicants shall correctly furnish Bank Account details for the purpose of Refund of application fee viz. Account No., IFS Code, Name of Bank, Name of Branch and Name of the Account Holder. VSSC will not be held responsible for any issue arising in refund of the application fee as a result of incorrect entry of bank account details by the applicant in the online application. In this regard, the applicants belonging to the following categories are required to upload their relevant certificates as follows:
SC/ST candidates – SC/ST certificate
Ex-servicemen candidates – Discharge certificate
PWBD candidates – Disability certificate
4.2. In case of submission of duplicate/multiple applications, the latest application against which the ‘application fee’ has been received within the last date of payment of application fee only will be considered.
05. PAY AND ALLOWANCES
5.1. Selected candidates may be offered appointment as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of Pay Matrix and will be paid minimum basic pay of ₹56,100/- p.m.
5.2. In addition to Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Transport Allowance (TA) are payable as per extant rules on the subject.
5.3. Employees will be governed by National Pension System/Unified Pension Scheme.
5.4. Medical facilities (Contributory Health Service Scheme) for self and eligible dependents, canteen facilities, quarters facility (in lieu of HRA), Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance, House Building Advance etc. are admissible as per Central Government orders.
5.5. The Department has a progressive HRD policy which provides an excellent growth potential for the right individual through its periodical merit-based performance review system (called Merit Promotion Scheme) de-linked from availability of vacancies for the advancement of their career in the Department.
06. WRITTEN TEST
6.1. All valid applicants will be called for written test.
6.2. Written test will be conducted at the following venues tentatively:
6.3. VSSC reserves the right to prune the above list.
6.4. Candidates are required to choose three cities in the order of preference among the above. Allotment of examination city as opted by a candidate will be strictly subject to administrative exigencies. In case it is not feasible to accommodate any candidate in the opted city, he/she will be assigned to the next feasible examination city as per the candidate’s choice. Decision of VSSC in this matter will be final and binding on the candidate.
6.5. Candidates applying for multiple posts should select same written test centre for all the posts.
07. PERSONS WITH BENCHMARK DISABILITY (PwBD)
7.1. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) can apply for the posts subject to fulfilling the physical requirements notified for the post. However, such candidates will be considered for selection by general standard of merit only. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of relevant disability shall alone be eligible for the benefit of age relaxation as permissible under rules.
7.2. Candidates must select the appropriate PwBD sub-category while filling the application form as per their certificate of disability issued by the Competent Authority. No subsequent change of PwBD sub-category will be allowed under any circumstances. Such candidates shall have to upload the requisite certificate obtained from the Competent Authority while submitting application and further, candidate has to furnish the originals at the time of document verification.
7.3. PROVISION OF COMPENSATORY TIME & ASSISTANCE OF SCRIBE:
7.3.1. In case of persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) in the category of blindness, locomotors disability (both arms affected-BA) and cerebral palsy, the facility of scribe is provided, if desired by the candidate.
7.3.2. In case of remaining categories of persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD), the provision of scribe will be provided on production of a certificate at the time of written test to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation to write, and scribe is essential to write examination on his behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government health care institution as per proforma at Annexure-I.
7.3.3. The facility of scribe will also be provided to PwBD candidates having disability less than 40% and having difficulty in writing in pursuance to OM No. 29-6/2019-DD-III dated 10.08.2022 issued by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The facility will be provided on production of certificate as per Annexure-IA.
7.3.4. The facility of scribes will be provided to the PwBD candidates only if the candidate has opted for the same in the online application form. The candidate will have the discretion of opting for his/her own scribe or to avail the facility of scribe provided by the VSSC as per the extant Govt. of India Orders. Appropriate choice in this regard will have to be given by the candidate in the online application form.
7.3.5. A compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided to the persons who are allowed use of scribe as described at Para 7.3.1, 7.3.2 and 7.3.3 above.
7.3.6. The candidates referred at Para 7.3.1, 7.3.2 and 7.3.3 above who are eligible for scribe, but not availing the facility of scribe will also be given compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination.
08. NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE: Candidates working under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous bodies under the Govt. should submit ‘No objection certificate’ from the present employer at the time of interview. Further, candidates who got employment after submission of online application should also submit NOC from employer at the time of interview. A candidate who fails to submit NOC as mentioned above, will not be permitted to attend interview and his/her candidature will be cancelled.
09. The applicants need not send any documents (by post/email) such as printout of online application, copies of certificates / mark lists in proof of educational qualification, work experience, age etc.
10. Candidates should be willing to undergo biometric verification.
11. Only Indian Nationals need apply.
12. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
13. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification
14. Applications submitted without complete information will summarily be rejected.
