INVITES APPLICATION FOR THE FOLLOWING POST

1. The position of Research Scientist will be purely on contract basis for a period of 3 years and are not entitled for annual increment.
2. The above vacancies may vary depending upon the actual requirement.
3. The Centre reserves the right not to fill up any of the vacancies, if it so decides.
4. At present, the place of posting is VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram, but the selected candidate is liable to be posted in any of the Centres/Units of the Indian Space Research Organisation/Department of Space situated in India, as and when required.
5. HOW TO APPLY
   • 5.1 Candidates are required to apply online through VSSC website (https://www.vssc.gov.in) from 1000 hours on 29.12.2025 to 1700 hours on 12.01.2026. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.
   • 5.2 Those who possess the required qualification as on the last date of application (as on 12.01.2026) only need to apply.
   • 5.3 Candidate should read the instructions in the advertisement carefully before making any entry or selecting any option in the application portal.
   • 5.4 Before clicking the submit button, the candidate is advised to ensure that, all the details filled in are correct. Candidate may also ensure that name, date of birth, etc. are entered correctly in the application form as per Secondary School Leaving Certificate. After final submission of application, no request for change/correction in the application form shall be entertained.
   • 5.5 After submitting the online application form and successful payment of application fee, candidate is required to take print out / save copy of the final application form (pdf) and preserve it till the completion of selection process.
   • 5.6 The candidates registered under National Career Service (NCS) portal and fulfilling the eligibility conditions may visit ISRO website and follow the application procedure as stated above.
   • 5.7 Candidates will have to produce the proof of the details furnished in their applications submitted online as and when required.
   • 5.8 Misrepresentation, hiding or falsification of facts etc. detected at any stage of the selection process, will result in cancellation of candidature, without any notice, and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
6. AGE LIMIT
   • 6.1 28 years as on 12.01.2026.
   • 6.2 Minimum age is 18 years.
   • 6.3 Ex-Servicemen, Meritorious Sportspersons & Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India Orders.
7. SELECTION PROCESS:
   • 7.1 The selection to the position will be based on the performance in the interview. Initial screening of applications will be conducted to short-list meritorious candidates for interview and the final selection will be based on the performance of the candidates in the interview.
   • 7.2 The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make candidates eligible for interview. The interview will be scheduled at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram. The call letter for interview will be sent to the short-listed candidates by e-mail. The result of the interview will be announced through VSSC website subsequently.
8. PAY AND ALLOWANCES
   • 8.1 Selected candidates may be offered appointment as Research Scientist with a remuneration of Rs. 56,100/- + applicable allowances.
   • 8.2 Medical facilities (Contributory Health Service Scheme) for self, canteen facilities, quarters facility subject to availability are admissible as per Central Government orders.
9. NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE
   • 9.1 Candidates working under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous bodies etc. should submit 'No objection certificate' from the present employer at the time of interview. Further, candidates who got employment after submission of online application should also submit NOC from employer at the time of interview. A candidate who fails to submit NOC as mentioned above, will not be permitted to attend interview and his/her candidature will be cancelled.
10. Candidates possessing Degrees awarded by foreign universities should produce the equivalency certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, at the time of interview.
11. Candidates should be willing to undergo biometric verification as and when required by VSSC.
12. Only Indian Nationals need to apply.
13. No interim correspondence will be entertained.
14. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
15. Applications submitted without complete information will summarily be rejected.
